Eminent Kuwaiti journalists arrive in Turkey on ties boosting mission KUNA 2012

Kuwait NewsANKARA, March 4 (KUNA) -- A delegation grouping senior and veteran Kuwaiti journalists and media figures arrived in the Turkish capital on Sunday starting a scheduled visit during which they will hold talks with ranking leaders on bilateral issues and topics of joint interest.
The mission, the first of its king on record to Turkey by such a high-profile media delegation from the Gulf country, coincides with unprecedented improvement of the bilateral relations between Ankara and Kuwait, said Ahmad Behbehani, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Journalists Association (KJA) and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), in remarks to KUNA.
It will boost efforts for mutual media cooperation between the two countries, he said, indicating that the eminent visitors will examine Turkey's modernization at the political, cultural and economic levels. They will hold talks, during the six-day visit, with senior leaders on means of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and to listen to local media pioneers' views on various crucial regional affairs.
The Kuwaiti delegation includes KUNA Chief Editor Rashed Al-Ruweished, Editor-in-Chief of the daily newspaper Al-Anbaa Yousef Khaled Al-Marzoug, Chief Editor of Al-Rai daily Majed Al-Ali and his counterpart in An-Nahar newspaper Imad Bou-Khamseen.
It also includes Chief Editor of the English language daily newspaper Kuwait Times, Abdul-Rahman Al-Olayan, Deputy Chief Editor of Al-Anbaa and coordinator of the mission, Adnan Al-Rashed, Deputy Chief Editor of Al-Jarida Saud Al-Enezi, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Al-Yaqaza magazine Dalia Bebehani and the photographer, Majed Al-Sabej.
Such meetings between Kuwaiti and Turkish figures pave the way for coordinating the two sides' stances at the regional level, Behbehani added in the remarks to the Kuwaiti news agency.
For his part, Abdullah Al-Thuwaikh, the dean of the diplomatic corps in Turkey and the Kuwaiti ambassador to the nation, said the visit was organized within the framework of boosting the bilateral relations between the two sides at the official and private levels, namely in the media field, noting that the two countries have been bound with a cultural cooperation accord.
Concurring with Behbehani, the diplomat affirmed that the mission would help in strengthening the relations between Turkey and Kuwait. The diplomat was at the airport upon arrival of the delegation. (end) mm.rk KUNA
